So, you’ve heard about CBD, but you would like to know more. We love to share our knowledge with our customers. Hopefully, this page will answer your questions. If not, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly and knowledgeable team.
You’ve no doubt seen those three little letters on many a product of late. But what do they actually mean?
Good news. You’ve come to the right place. All of us here at Essench (well, perhaps not our kids) are both passionate about crafting high-quality CBD-infused products and remarkably keen to educate the public about the usage of CBD.
So, the science-y stuff. Cannabidiol (CBD) is but one of many compounds present within the rather useful Cannabis Sativa plant.
Now, calm down, no need to clutch the pearls nor for that matter think that you’re doing something wicked. You’re not. CBD is a perfectly legal substance within the UK. CBD is extracted from the plant in such a way as to leave but a minuscule fraction of the compound Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, aka, the stuff that gets you high) behind.
None of our products contain more than the legal limit of THC (0.02%), nor will they ever do so. They’re perfectly safe to consume and use.
What is CBD?
How Does CBD work?
Every vertebrate animal on the planet is born with an Endocannabinoid System (ECS) within them. The ECS is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids. These are a class of chemicals called neurotransmitters which, when cannabinoids such as CBD are introduced to the body, bind together and then communicate back to the ECS information that it can then use to help the body reach a state of homeostasis.
Sorry, that was yet another mouthful of a word. Homeostasis is the equilibrium of a system, essentially, a balance of your internal, physiological self.
As you could readily imagine, achieving such a state is integral in maintaining your health and well-being.
Whilst research is still being carried out as to how this result is achieved, we cannot make any specific nor authoritative medical claims as to the efficacy of CBD. We do not advertise or market it as anything but a dietary supplement. CBD products are not to be used in the treatment of any medical condition. use.
What Is CBD?
How Does CBD Work?
CBD interacts with your Endocannabinoid System. In the late 1990s scientist discovered the Endocannabinoid System present in the human body. This is a system made of receptors all over the body that bind to the CBD molecules. This binding of molecules signals the endocannabinoid system to create certainly endocannabinoids to help with bodily functioning.
Will CBD get me high?
Afraid not buttercup. There is simply not enough THC present within CBD to achieve that state. Any CBD product containing more
than 0.02% of THC is illegal. None of our products exceed this limit (sorry!).
Is CBD Legal?
It is indeed! The inclusion of CBD into a consumable product is perfectly legal as long it does not exceed the 0.02% limit of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) content, as set by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
What dose of CBD do I need?
Everyone’s body is different. We recommend you start on a lower strength such as our 500mg Keto Kanna drops. Increase that amount over a few weeks taking a little more every day. If you still feel like your notice a difference, then jump up to 1000mg or 2000mg. The reason we recommend this is not because you can overdose on CBD, but if your body responds to the 500mg then going up in strength will just be a waste of money.
Can CBD help my medical condition?
Due to the rules and regulations put on CBD products by the FSA and the MRHA we are not allowed to say that CBD can help your medical condition. What we are allowed to say is CBD works with your Endocannabinoid System to help your body achieve homeostasis and to increase your overall wellbeing. We can also say that the Endocannabinoid System helps to regulate: mood, memory, digestion, inflammation, sleep, and many other functions within the body.
